Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, the protagonists, have just been dragged into Tartarous, a place in the Underworld where monsters are reborn after getting killed. Tartarous is the most feared place in the world of demigods, yet Percy and Annabeth keep on fighting and struggling, even through the toughest challenges. They face titians, giants, vampire-like creatures, and even mosters that make you feel all the pain you have caused. The only reason they keep on going is because of firewater, help from a clueless titan, and eachother. They are trying to reach the Doors of Death to stop Gea's evil army of monsters from going the the surface the easy way. But someone has to hold the button for twelve minutes if they want to go back up. I predict that someone will hold the button for them and fend off all of the monsters so Percy and Annabeth can return to the surface. Then something will go horribly wrong and they will have to survive another extreme event. I think tbis because the author has a nasty habit of not letting demigods live a happy life.
Addison Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7393228299480080672.post-28233804489889796802013-12-11T20:10:05.351-07:002013-12-11T20:10:05.351-07:00I am reading the mark of Athena by Rick Rordan. As he journeys he finds he has become a giant man who is asked by a goddess of a different world to become a knight. He is named Able by the goddess. He finds many companions and friends to help him travel to a different world to become a knight and fight crime. He begins his journey but gets sidetracked with obstacles of raiders and elfs. The main character, Gray, decides the only way to get answers is to climb “the wall.” Gray lives in a small town called Claysoot with only a couple hundred people. The founders of this place first discovered the mysterious heist as soon as they got there. Something happened and the people forgot almost everything from how they got there to what their names were. The heist takes away young men on the night they turn 18 years old. He has a brother, Blaine, who is supposedly a year older than him (to the day). Blaine got heisted exactly when it was expected. Weeks after Blaine’s heist, Gray discovers that his mom (who died when he was 14) and Blaine had been keeping a secret from him. He found out that he and Blaine are actually twins from a letter behind the picture in a picture frame. This is when the questions start. If Gray was Blaine’s twin then Gray wonders how he was able to escape the heist and what was behind “the wall.” The book states the wall is a structure no one can cross or survive and that climbing the wall is practically the most suicidal act someone could undertake. Gray decides “it is better to risk everything than to sit back and wait to be taken.” He decides to take on the wall, thinking that if he escaped the heist he could also escape the creatures that get anyone who tries to go over the wall. In his town there are many dead bodies taken away from the bottom of the wall, mainly of 17 year old boys before they reach the age of their heist. Gray successfully climbs over the wall, but is exposed to new challenges beyond the wall. Just over the wall he hears rustling from the bush beside him. His best friend Emma has decided to follow right behind him. Together they will have to find the answers and stay safe. I think at the end of this book they will get the answers they seek, but only after they succeed in challenges that could result in their death. Will the desire of these two young adults be enough to carry them through the toughest of challenges?
Avery H #6 ;)
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7393228299480080672.post-7035473590455120802013-12-03T20:59:32.254-07:002013-12-03T20:59:32.254-07:00In Spartan Gold by Clive Cussler, the protagonists...In Spartan Gold by Clive Cussler, the protagonists Sam and Remy Fargo, two treasure hunting spouses, find a world war2 submarine in a swamp. This Book is about a teen named Wade Watson who lives in 2045 when the world is turning to crap and almost everybody "lives" and works on the OASIS. The Oasis is a simulator system that has a low laser emitting device that projects the many plant universe of the oasis. Wades adventure starts when the creator of the system dies from an illness. With no heirs James Halliday creates a contest with three keys and three gates, A copper key, a jade key, and a crystal key all with their own gate. The contest gave the winner 242,000,000,000 dollars and ownership of the OASIS. Wade who got his OASIS free to go to school spends almost all of his free time searching for the copper key finally finds it after 5 years and becomes the first name on the scoreboard, an 80's style score board because that was the best time of his life. The contest centered around all 80's games is all of a sudden shot back in to popularity and Parzival,Wade's avatar, becomes famous and he makes lot's of money of little things like Parzival lunch boxes and other little objects. After he gets through the copper gate the Sixers formally known as Sux0rz to all gunters, the name of all the people who search for Halliday's egg, bribe Parzival to tell them how to get the egg, but when he doesn't they blow up his aunt's trailer in the stacks. Luckily Wade was in his hideout in the wall of trash on the outskirts of the trailer park. He then moves to Ohio and buys the highes quality OASIS rig you can buy. The setting of the book is in Utah at the beggining then in Ohio for the rest of the book. Also through all of the book Wade spends most of his time in the OASIS. I Think that Wade is going to win the contest but it may take 10 more years if it takes 5 years per key.

~Eric C. #2Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7393228299480080672.post-32520332699372491902013-12-03T20:42:44.205-07:002013-12-03T20:42:44.205-07:00In The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, a 19 year ...In The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, a 19 year old girl named Paige Mahoney has a superhuman ability: she can dislocate her spirit from her body. In this book the main character is Percy Jackson. In the Previous book him and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, a huge pit in the under world where defeated monsters end up when slayed. They must escape and close the doors of death that are allowing evil monsters to leave Tartarus. As this happens you learn that all their friends are trying to reach the other doors and save them. Both groups face many challenges including poisonous air and giant mountain gods. The only reason that Percy and Annabeth can survive Tartarus is because they have each other. With Annabeths brains and Percy strength they manage to escape. But when they reach the doors of death they discover that someone must hold a button for 12 minutes for the doors to work. In the end their titan friend sacrafices himself for them to escape. I think that since its a book, and they always have happy endings, that both groups will get to the doors and everyone will be reunited.

--Toren K. One ... The House of Hades supplied heaps of heroism. One that stands out in the amount of heroism he pulls behind him is Percy Jackson. He is thrown into Tartarous, a Greek place where monsters are reborn and a living heck. He fights though a poisonous world new dangers at ever turn: monsters who carry out curses, giants, and titans. Overall not a very excellent position to be in. Despite the fact he pulls his and his girlfriend's weight though the torturous land. The goal that Percy must complete to make it out alive is find the Door of Death, the entry way from the monster's world to ours. This seems impossible and first but he carries though and makes it out into the world just in time to save the day.
